Unless you are fortunate enough to come from money, there is one commonality for a lot of college students: you are flat broke. This is the case for many college students that adds to the stresses that studying and passing classes already present.

What you might not realize is that you don’t have to take on a full-time job to make a little bit of money as a college student. There are a number of things that you can do to make some extra money and give yourself a little breathing room during your college years.

Work-Study Jobs

These are actually specifically designed for students to work on campus. When you submit your FAFSA paperwork, you might actually qualify for a position on-campus. This is essentially a part-time job that is funded by the government and is meant to give students the time to work while allowing time to get schoolwork done, too.

These are fairly common jobs like administrative work or a front desk gig at a dorm room. The work isn’t glamorous, but the money is there and you will still have time to make certain that your homework gets done.

Ride Sharing

Ride sharing has become a great way for people from all walks of life to supplement their income or to have a part-time job without a schedule or commitment. Being able to drive a few hours per night a couple days per week will allow you to work around your schooling and only take on commitments when you are ready.

If you are smart and provide rides during peak hours and weekends, you can make a nice chunk of change to give you some spending money in between classes. This can be hugely helpful for students everywhere and doesn’t have the stresses of a normal job.
